Food memory
Ravioli, bread, old family methods, and the kind of food knowledge that is learned by being present.
About Sergio
Oscata is not a place Sergio selected for a travel concept. It is the village where his father was born, and the place he has returned to every summer since birth.
His first knowledge of Oscata came through family: old houses, ravioli made by his grandmother, the freedom of summer days, wheat, bread, and the practical rural memory of a small village in Irpinia.

Family path
The origin is not hospitality language. It is a family path back to a rural place: summers in Oscata, food at home, relatives, open space, and the ordinary life around wheat and bread.
Among those memories, ravioli stayed with him most clearly: ricotta ravioli and sweet ravioli with cocoa and chestnuts. He learned by making them with his grandmother, hands in the dough.
That is why Oscata with Sergio is not built as a generic village product. The experience begins from a personal responsibility to protect the tone of the place while allowing very few guests to enter it with care.
The oven
Oscata's community oven, at least 150 years old, was once part of a weekly family rhythm: a shared fire, straw, bread for the week, and the gestures needed to make that work.
When Sergio began the first recovery, the oven was not a decorative object. It had to be cleared, cleaned, understood, and brought back to a condition where the community could imagine using it again.
That first work later became part of a wider community path around Oscata inVita, the Ecomuseo delle Cucine Rurali dell'Alta Irpinia, and the living memory of the village.
Oscata inVita APS is the local community association that manages the Ecomuseum of Rural Kitchens of Alta Irpinia, bringing together residents, volunteers, farmers, artisans, frequent returners, and people with family roots in Oscata.
Sergio is a founding member of Oscata inVita APS, the local association behind the Ecomuseum of Rural Kitchens of Alta Irpinia.
Official ecomuseum material connects Sergio's early hands-on recovery of the oven with the wider community path that later brought it back into use.

What guests enter
The value of the experience is not only in food or fire. It is in the way those gestures carry memory, work, limits, and respect.
Ravioli, bread, old family methods, and the kind of food knowledge that is learned by being present.
Old houses, a real village, practical limits, seasonal rhythm, and no attempt to turn Oscata into a resort.
Sergio coordinates the rhythm, people, expectations, safety, privacy, and fit before anything is confirmed.
Why Sergio hosts
Hosting here does not mean performing village life. It means preparing the conditions for a private group to enter a living rural context without forcing it, simplifying it, or polishing away what makes it true.
For that reason, every request is reviewed personally. Money alone does not guarantee access; timing, attitude, privacy needs, safety, local availability, and respect all matter.
In simple terms
There is a local host in a small village in Irpinia whose father was born there. He has returned to Oscata every summer since birth, helped bring an old straw-fired community oven back into use, and now receives only selected guests who can enter that world with respect.
For a family, couple, quiet small group of friends, specialist introduction, or serious direct request, Sergio reviews the fit personally before availability or any proposal is discussed.
